Schema
Record label · Milan
Schema is a record label in Milan, started by Luciano Cantone in the nineties, at the height of acid jazz. It still releases new club-jazz, much of it with a Brazilian accent. Rearward, its reissue arm, finds Italian jazz and library music from the sixties and seventies and presses it again, properly. Among them, a 1973 Piero Umiliani library record, originally on Liuto: jazz-funk, arranged around synthesisers. Liuto was one of three labels Umiliani ran himself, and Schema has since reissued its entire catalogue, nineteen discs, in facsimiles of the original sleeves.
